Why does god exist?

If we couldn’t give you any kind of plausible answer to that question; if we just said, “I dunno”, would you consider the proposition less believable?
I think people here got the impression that I asked that question because I was trying to challenge atheists or be defient. Lol, I wasn't. That question was in direct response to the OP saying "it has been proven that the universe created itself." I had never heard of the universe "creating itself" and wasn't sure what this meant, which is why I asked about it. Apparently all he meant by that was the universe is eternal, which I indeed had heard of before, I just had never heard it put that way before (that it created itself). Anyway, I have no problem with that theory. Whateverist said it best a few posts up.

I have no idea
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
