Last I checked OJ was acquitted of murder charges, so he is innocent, if you have evidence proving otherwise...let's see it.
That's not what the civil court said. BAM!
Also, it's "not guilty," not "innocent." "Not guilty" generally means that they don't have sufficient evidence to prove the accused is guilty. "Innocent" is a much taller order to fill, which is why it's not used as a verdict.
Recently, I watched the American Crime Story season about O.J. Simpson, and it shows a big part of how he managed to get off: Johnnie Cochran playing to the insecurities of the largely-black jury. Also, of course, the infamous "glove does not fit" moment. There are lots of potential reasons to wonder why they didn't fit (though none are dwelled upon in the series.) Defense says they didn't fit because they didn't fit because they weren't his gloves. Prosecutor Marcia Clarke said that the latex gloves put inside the gloves to avoid contamination fucked up the fit. The Goldmans believe that Nicole's dried blood was on the glove and changed its shape. When I was watching the scene on my iPad, Dad was also there, and he hypothesised that the leather gloves got wet at some point, and thus lost their flexibility and even some size. I found another explanation, and it comes from the defense camp: According to Lawrence Schiller, who had access to O.J. and his Dream Team at the time, O.J. had rheumatoid arthritis, and, apparently, Robert Kardashian discovered that in the weeks prior to the glove demonstration, he stopped taking his medication for it. Nobody can prove jack shit in the case of the gloves, but the DNA evidence at the scene appeared to be a pretty conclusive match.
