Yeah, I can;t for the life of me understand why people saddle their religions with this sort of shit.  It can;t help...it can only hurt.  It;s high maintenance. I guess it might seem like a good idea..in the bubble of belief, but that comes off to me as remarkably short sighted.

What happens when a persons belief system is so intimately connected with a given bit of psuedo-science, that it being discredited creates an existential threat to the faith position?  I'd say our new friend CDF is what happens.

I can't respond to all the posts here.  It is digital.  It is a 4 digit digital code (not binary 0s and 1s).  Digital does not always mean binary.  Research Google for this.
