I think the better question is why wouldn't you? It's a scientific topic, atheists have no unique perspective on the matter, since thousands of God-believing scientists come down on both sides of the issue. You're an engineer, so you ought to be able to keep up your end, as well as you have here, at any rate. I'm not telling you to go away, I'm advising you to expand your horizons. And if you can convince a majority of scientists in relevant fields that you're correct, that carries some weight around here.
