I'm immediately suspicious of any argument that casts doubt on the value of voting in a free and fair election. Here in the US we have various factions trying to make it more difficult instead of easier for citizens to vote. Convincing people - including people who are polar opposite of me in their political beliefs - to skip voting isn't a good idea.
With that said, however, I didn't vote in the 2004 presidential election as I was still pissed after the Supreme Court basically selected George W. Bush as president in 2000. But I still cast a ballot in all the other local and state elections, I just left the presidential vote line blank.
