I already quoted the "open hostility" shown...and it;s up to you to decide whether or not you have a strongly held belief in christ or a strongly held belief that gays don;t have civil rights.
The latter, as the courts have already decided..is patently frivolous.
IMO, if this is what christianity is reduced to, if equality under law really is an existential threat to your faith in whatever it is you believe in...then christianity should just pack it up and quit. It;s as dead and soulless as anything could be.
You're standing here bitching about the anti-religious bigotry of a fucking protestant who suiggested that people should stop using their religions to hurt people as if that isn;t the desperate rambling of a loon whose lost his purchase on society.
-and christ wept.
Then you should understand the problem. Maybe, just maybe, advocate for a system that gets us as close to 100% free of discrimination as possible..rather than carry water for discriminatory justifications?
You;ve had to keep who you are close to the vest to get promotions. They would have had to do the same to buy a fuckin cake..and hey, you could both go elsewhere...but should you have to? Your plight -is- the same. A violation of one persons civil rights..in any way, is a violation of everyones civil rights. We won;t get closer to that magical 100% until we all fully realize and appreciate this.

I'm quite sure if I was as open about my atheism at work as some of my co-workers are about their faith, I would not have been promoted to the position/salary I have now at the very least, and at worst might no longer be working for my current employer at all. My plight is not nearly the same as what others face. But I don't live a life that is 100% free discrimination either.

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
