When my Dad and I were watching the live footage from MSNBC, I pointed out the conspicuous absence of China. Given that they were pretty much the one party that kept us from nuclear Armageddon last year, and they’re more or less the reason North Korea is still allowed to exist, the fact that they didn’t appear certainly reinforces the perception that the talks were a lot less substantial than first appeared.
