We all know creationists try to muddy the water by equating evolution to abiogenesis and any other scientific concept they "think" they can associate together.
Actually, it seems to me evolution by natural selection can explain abiogenesis. Indeed any version of abiogenesis would be rather implausible without postulating the process was strongly affected by natural selection of heritable traits along the way.
Certainly evolution can be true without abiogenesis being true. But abiogenesis can hardly be true without evolution also being true.
Certainly abiogenesis would be the symbolic stake in the heart of the wax effigy that is creationist Christianity. Perhaps creationist’s attack against evolution is but an effort to keep the scene of the fighting between proven methods of fact finding and hucksterish faith of truth through threats, enticements and assertions away from what is am organ considered vital to the make belief life of jesusism.
