Actually, it seems to me evolution by natural selection can explain abiogenesis. Indeed any version of abiogenesis would be rather implausible without postulating the process was strongly affected by natural selection of heritable traits along the way.
Certainly evolution can be true without abiogenesis being true. But abiogenesis can hardly be true without evolution also being true.
Sure, we could quibble about where the two overlap. Might be a stimulating discussion even. But I can guarantee you one thing. It will not be happening in this thread. Our protagonist has everything so comprehensively borked that such a discussion is impossible.
