This. We don't need apologetics for cooking, or for astronomy, or for piano lessons. Neither do we need them for gardening, or going to the movies, or throwing a surprise birthday party for a friend.
But supposedly the supreme Reality of Realities, encompassing all of space-time, can't stand on its own without mortals tripping all over themselves trying to godsplain it.
I think the notion that the very concept of Christian apologetics is made necessary by the flaws of Christianity is incorrect. Apologetics is just arguments made to defend the tenant of a system of beliefs. Any system of belief, regardless of whether it is flawed, can have arguments made in favor of its tenants. Regardless of the quality of the arguments, these are the equivalents of apologetics. In other systems, apologetics simply go by a different name.
One might even say a geometry proof is a piece of apologetics for a geometric theorem.
This however does not change the fact that what has ever actually constituted Christian apologetics were all doggerel, and Christianity is irremediably fatally flaw from its conception and immune to sound and valid comphensive justification.
