It's almost like once you put a lying, xenophobic, unapologetic, boorish, narcissistic, and thin-skinned reality TV star on the highest pedestal in the country, political discourse turns into a sh*t-flinging contest.
It is part of the job of celebrities to be controversial, to say and do stupid sh*t in order to attract attention. Politicians and governmental officials are supposed to be the opposite - boring and well-behaved. Since White House raised the bar on public douchebaggery - I think we can expect a lot worse yet to come, from all sides, on all levels.
Personally, as a European - and a misanthrope - I can hardly give a f*ck anymore. And I do predict Trump will be re-elected, because USA is a joke...
