I don't remember mentioning story so I responding to the fact that gameplay is all that matters to me and graphics just can POSSIBLY add to that (make the game more enjoyable - so increase the gameplay in that sense).
But for the record on the matter of stories in games. I have no problem whatsoever and my brother loves a story line in a game. I used to like them more when I was a kid and I didn't do online...
But personally for me after being an online gamer for years and years without stories...I just wanna get to the game! I'm like "Let's play!! w00t!"
Anyway... - it's the same reason I dislike RPG. I Love RTS though
SOME RTS and SOME FPS are what's best for me. I've played thousands of different games over they the years but only a handful I played regularly. And I have played AoC far far far far FAR more than all other games put together...
I really like to stick to the one game and go on a journey with it online...for years....an ongoing unwritten story that you and your fellow gamers (and enemy gamers) write yourself - the game itself developing...with new strategies being developed and the game being totally maximized to the full. It's potential being lived. Unweaving the rainbow of the game 
That's the story for me. And it's a fully live and unfolding unwritten story. And it's an un-fucking-believable experience
