"Your hypothesis of who voted what is based on nothing more than just that, your imagination. I reckon that the people who vote against it do so because there are other alternatives and they see no need for corporal punishment. Not because they are 'young'. Age doesn't really have anything to do with it IMO."
In a nutshell I was saying your reasoning for thinking that the people voted the way they did was a bit of bull. Just because I wasn't brought up in the same era as you doesn't necessarily mean I can't comprehend what corporal punishment is like. Also comprehending this is only one facet out of many which can influence the way people have voted in the poll. This is the point I was trying to make.
