If there are ET's they probably came into existence in much the same way that we did. If they can visit us, I really don't see why they would. The majority of earthlings are delusional half-wits. If they're so technologically advanced that they could travel through space at their leisure, then a string of logic would suggest that they do not subscribe to any Gods. They would have already destroyed themselves over their opposing beliefs, thus stifling the advancement of science and technology in their culture.
God is just a mindless, nonthinking way to explain things that take an evolved intelligence to understand. This is why people who thought that fire and the wheel were the hoopiest things ever came up with such a concept. How could they possibly understand the immense complexity of life and the universe? Modern earthlings are still figuring out some things and making discoveries every day. I have to say that we would be a lot further along in scientific advancement if not for religion. It has been the only thing to stifle the progress of science and technology.
