From where I sit, everyone has their armor piled on so heavily that it's no longer about people communicating with each other and trying to genuinely express themselves, but rather that it's turned into an infantile game where each side tries to outdo one another. "Your beliefs are stupid" "No, yours are." And, yes, I'm well aware of how deeply I've fallen into that trap myself.
I don't think theists need a civil sub-section. What I think would actually help is a sub-section where religious and political talk of any kind is forbidden. Amazingly (perhaps shockingly), I'd legitimately like to know some of our theists as people. Almost every interaction with the majority of theists on here is either a conflict over religion/atheism, or a conflict over politics. Isn't there something not related to either you'd like to talk about? Any hobbies? Music? Food? Travel? Art?
