Are there any Christian proselytizers left in this subforum?

I'm going to take this criticism to heart, and do some serious reflection on account of what you two said. The thing is: it isn't just something I blurted out in a drunk post. It's a real attitude that I carry around with me, and maybe this attitude needs to go. I'd like to apologize to Khem, Neo, or anyone else whom I might have offended. As I explained earlier, I saw this as me criticizing my own culture. I also argued that my remarks ought to be excused on that account. But these excuses aren't good enough.

The cultural problems I detailed might be solved by the implementation of a robust education system, better addictions treatments, more resources for parents etc. My aiming a pejorative at an entire subclass was uncalled for, and did nobody any good. It was not only rude and bigoted, it was stupid and useless.

If I may somehow retroactively remove the term "white trash" from my post, I would edit it to say this. "Some people come from cultures/parents who prize the religious dimension over the intellectual dimension. This forum should be a place for them to realize their own intellectual dimension." Maybe I could have said the other stuff this way: "It breaks my heart and angers me to no end me to realize how so many promising kids have to grow up with shitty parents who don't realize their own children's potential."

That's the best I can do, since I've already said what was said.
