The 100 is also pretty good... but idk if older people would like it. It's post-apocalyptic but actually has interesting storylines, and focuses on a lot of important concepts through metaphors and parallels. About 75% of the main characters are teens (played by adults. :/), so... people may get bored by it. That and it always ends on a cliffhanger so I doubt an episode a week will work.
