DNA is made of nucleotides. Each nucleotide contains a phosphate group, a sugar group and a nitrogen base. The four types of nitrogen bases are adenine (A), thymine (T), guanine (G) and cytosine ©. The order of these bases is what determines DNA's "instructions". The ONLY reason DNA works is because of chemical CHARGES that attract opposite charged amino acids, in a specific order. ... thus making a protein.

It is PRECISELY the "material type", (the nucleotides)  and their order, which attracts amino acids in precise orders, due to chemical charges/attraction, that makes proteins.
