It seems most people don't.
That being said, it is difficult to maintain any sort of civil discourse when one is being constantly insulted and provoked. Eventually people, not radicals, just average centrists and progressives, are going to respond negatively to to constant stream of insults. Particularly when the leader tweets them multiple times a day.
The only way I've found to be civil and sane is to ignore 90% of it. It solves nothing but at least I'm not crying myself to sleep over the state of the politics in the world.
I really don't have any good advice, and I don't think it's going to resolve itself nicely any time soon. But here's an internet hug! It's all I have to offer.
Imagine if enough Germans had seen through the vitriol and political scapegoating of one man. 6 million Jews and 50 million humans worldwide would not be dead.
Yes I did equate the orange turd's rhetoric to Hitler, because it is the same. Sell fear, sell paranoia of others, vilify political rivals and all critics, sell hyper nationalism and offer yourself up as the only solution.
I really am sick of not only the right, but many on the left as well, refusing to see the parallels. Political scapegoating and vilification by those in power never ends up well. To say that cannot happen here, is a fallacy, it has already, in slavery, in lynchings, genocide of Native Americans and Japanese/American prison camps.
The only reason that asshole is being such a dick, is because he wants to distract everyone from his family's business practices and corrupt behaviors. The reason the GOP loves it, it acts as a shiny object away from the fact that they WILL gut social security and medicare and end protections for preexisting conditions to continue to fund long term DEBT created by billionaire tax breaks billionaires do not need.
