I Voted today.

I vote early via mail. I voted both right and left. I studied which candidate I thought was more qualified. I don't fall for the partisan B.S. I did however vote for Sinema here because I do not like McSally and Trump so to me that was a vote against Trump.

Um no, sorry, I get your intent, but there is a collective long term strategy by the GOP that is not good for America, both on class/race/zip codes, and economics.

It would be WONDERFUL if we could get back to the ideal of "whom is the best for the job". But with dark money and citizens united flooding politics, there is only one goal the GOP has collectively, despite any individual good intent of a voter or individual politician. Their goal is to protect Wall Street, protect low wages, protect big oil, and whatever jobs are created by GOP in power are wages still not meeting the cost of living, and the few wage increases still get eaten up by inflation.

I thought Mitt for example, showed a lot of class in saying that our politics needs to get back to being civil. I also thought it showed a lot of class for him to basically say what Obama did for 8 years, that we are diverse and every citizen deserves dignity. Just like I thought it took guts for McCain to stick up for Obama during his run. But, for that ideal to really work the way you want it too, the economics have to work in rural, suburbs and cities, in every zip code. But that is not the goal of the GOP, even if that individual politician doesn't want to partake in Trump tactics.

Collectively speaking as a long term strategy as a party I do not see the GOP platform as meeting those economic goals. 

I DO get your intent, and it is something America should strive to get to, but currently, the way the GOP has destroyed workers voices since Reagan, has allowed the top to get richer while workers pay stagnates, and especially with whom they put in the WH, I would not pin my hopes on that party en mass doing the right thing. If they were the party of Lincoln, or even Teddy, I would vote Republican, but that is not what they are now. 

If every GOP politician were to be consistent in doing what McCain did in standing up for Obama, or Mitt for that matter, I would have far more confidence in trusting working with the GOP. But the best they can muster in standing up to the bully is occasional lip service only to turn around and take the win, regardless of whom he hurts.

Point is we are not dealing with politics as normal and while I would love to get on board with your good intent, I just don't see that as possible until the GOP collectively en mass puts an end to his bullying.

Fair enough. I am glad you understand the way I voted. But...honestly I don't feel my vote really matters much at the end of the day. I even considered not even voting this election. But nonetheless my Dad convinced me to do so. I guess I just voted on policy and which policies lined with my values. I also avoided voting for any Trump lap dogs. But at the end of the day, my vote doesn't matter.  

By the way, fun fact: Mitt Romney was a good friend of my grandfather.
