For a few hundred thousand years, most everyone on the planet had some kind of delusion about the nature of how we came to be here.
They had these delusions because they had no other methods of attaining the truth about our reality.
Fantasy was their only option.
Fortunately for us, we now have a scientific method to obtain good testable knowledge about the world we live in.
It's hard to shake off our fantasy roots.
They are deeply embedded within us as a species.
We are trusting of authority figures and gullible as children.
As adults we are less trusting because we know that people can lie. We are less gullible because we know that if something is too good to be true, then it's also probably a lie.
We require evidence before we believe outrageous claims. We aren't as gullible as most people seem to be.
We skeptical. We are Atheists. We are rational thinkers.
We are not religious.
If we are to advance as a civilization, we must embrace science and cast off the yoke of religious indoctrination. We must not give in to gullibility.
