I only got off corded phones relatively recently. Didn't like the volume and clarity on cordless. That has changed and I now have a cordless. It has an on-speaker option, too, which helps if I need to write something down. I have a cell phone, thanks to Obama ("Thanks Obama!"), but it's pure crap. Takes 30 seconds just to switch screens. I only keep it around to call 911 if the power or internet is out. I use the landline instead. Which is something of a misnomer, as it's VOIP through Magic Jack. I also have a google number which forwards to my cell phone, but I haven't used it for anything yet. I wanted to find out how much spam google numbers get before I switch my service over to that solution. So far, no complaints.
