I've heard some others say this as well but many disagree and think it is the best version. I disagree with people that will only go by the KJV though because it is not perfect. It is nice to have other translations and even commentaries to help understand the meaning of the original texts.

I believe children and those that never heard of him, as well as the mentally disabled, will all be saved along with followers of Jesus (both Jewish followers and gentile followers). I believe it is those that reject him whom will perish.
Yes and CDF47 has good reason to believe that. There is a Bible passage that says something like that. I will try to find it on Biblegateway.com. I remember there was a side note about it in a woman's study bible I used to have. Personally I have read the entire bible and the New Testament 14 times in 7 different translations, but only in English.
