Yes, it's bad. Pick an ally that isn't shit. Iran isn't Sunni. The only reason our government hates Iran is because its people overthrew a dictator that our CIA installed. Stay away from Sunnis, and if you can't find a nation in the middle east that isn't Sunni, or doesn't have some other egregious problem, just don't make allies with anyone in that region.
They are a terrorist state. Just because they're fighting some other form of terrorism, doesn't mean we should ally with them against terrorism, and overlook what they do.
A lot of countries hate America. Partly because of all the warring we do, and regime change, and all that shit. Maybe partly because we're allied with messed up countries like Saudi Arabia, Israel, and probably soon North Korea, with the way Trump talks about Kimmy.
We have good relations with China, so yeah. Let them handle that hot mess. We should be making friends with other powerful nations, not pissing them off and threatening WW3.
