I think we choose the way we die and we only ever suffer through any fear or pain that we have intentionally caused. I think natural disasters happen for a reason and those souls would rather be in a better place than this anyway. I know for myself, I have lost my fear of death completely with all the experiences and signs I have had, and I am ready to go at any time.
Our flesh dies, the real us never does.
People cause pain to each other deliberately all the time. Whether it be a terrorist, child molester, rapist, serial killer, or a child or spouse abuser, the pain they inflict is intentional.
And whether it be constantly putting people down with verbal abuse to a child or spouse or just to someone you don't like, that is intentionally causing pain.
And whether it be commiting adultery, or sleeping with your brother or friends wife, that is intentionally causing pain.
And whether it be lying about someone or lying to someone about something that matters to them, that is intentionally causing pain.
And whether it be spreading gossip about someone or even just teen-agers bullying a kid at school, that is intentionally causing pain.
I have suffered an enormous amount of pain in my life. You have no idea what you're talking about.
They are suffering regardless of what my philosophy is. And as someone who has suffered a great deal, it is better to have an explanation for why the pain is happening and an eventual positive outcome, than to think the pain is just happening for no reason, and then you die and go nowhere.

What is your point though?

You're ready to go ... if that were only true. Bye bye then.
