So we have an all-powerful Creator and the lovely thing about being all-powerful is that you never have to settle for second best in your own handiwork. God never has to choose between two unpleasant options because God can always make more options. God never has to choose between the lesser of two evils because God can always make an option with no evils whatsoever.
And yet here we are, looking around Creation and what do we see? Needless, and frequently pointless suffering. This leads to the inevitable conclusion that God created suffering deliberately and must therefor be a rather hateful, malevolent bastard.
For low-hanging fruit you have the natural disasters. Flood, fire, earthquake, volcano... All really nasty ways to die or get maimed. Certain individuals argue that "everything happens for a reason", which is just "Mysterious Ways" wearing a moustache. God could have Created differently but didn't.
Then you have people. Right royal bastards we are and no doubt about it. We cause suffering in new and inventive ways. But whose fault is that really? Did God have to Create a world where human malevolence caused suffering? No. We could have lived in a universe where AK-47s fire marshmallows and being kicked and beaten merely tickled. But that isn't the universe we live in.
Then you have predation. Everything that lives must kill to survive. Certain parties have suggested that everything could survive off nuts and berries. While that's a pretty dubious and unsubstantiated claim it really begs the question, "Why didn't God make the world that way?" No, in this world tigers don't pounce on blueberry bushes. They're designed as killing machines and there's no getting around it. All of us are. To make it worse, the ridiculously poor 10% efficiency of energy transmission ensures that we have to kill ten times as much as we would otherwise.
Now lets look a bit closer at this Divine Depravity as embodied by the wondrous world of parasites. Unlike the tiger, parasites let their hosts live and simply sap them of vital energy, prolonging their life and agony. Parasites don't even have the decency to kill you. They just go to work and gnaw on you living. The beautiful thing is that they've been Designed to do this and do it instinctively. From the worms that chew on children's eyes to the Ichneumenoid wasps whose larvae munch through the innards of the living catepillars they were laid on, every one of these has been superbly engineered to attack and devour its host an inch at a time. And before anybody goes and tries to blame humans for these horrors please note that they were around hundreds of millions of years before we came down out of the trees.
Yet more evidence in the case for a Malevolent Deity.
He is letting evil, sin, and suffering run their course.
