No they didn't. This is God Allmighty we're talking about. He don't need no stinking volcanoes! He can just say "Let there be land!" and the continents say "Yes Sir, God Sir! How much land would you like?"

No one but atheists believe in this very warped version of god. There is no god like the one you all have made up. The actual God is a real conscious being with divine intelligence.
And continents don't talk, just like big rocks don't create universes. Do I have to teach you everything? God is not a man, so get over it. Even the Christians websites explain that the male pronoun was just used because this an actual being we are talking about, not an it.The planet was created in the way planets are created. Since you can't create one, I don't think you should judging God's way of doing it.

Don't intentionally cause suffering and you won't suffer.

No, this is people we are talking about. This is not God's planet or God's challenge. This planet was created for us, not for God. You don't want to suffer, don't cause any suffering to others and you won't. It is as simple as that.

Suffering only the pain that you have intentionally caused to others is in no way horrific punishment. It is just eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth.
Perfect justice for the victims of your wrath.

God is not beating anyone. People are intentionally causing pain, and then suffering only the pain they have intentionally caused to others. How many times do I have to explain this to you? Jesus explains it like 10 times in the NT. OT God explains it over and over. Hindus and Buddhists know it. Muslims live by it. That's like 5 billion people who have no problem understanding perfect justice. Try to wrap your head around it.

So if even we mortals know that this is not merely needless, not merely senseless, but actually counter-productive suffering then God's either the biggest incompetent or the biggest bastard in the history of history.

Only in your warped version of God and reality. People learn to stop hurting others by suffering through the pain they have caused. Write it down perhaps. There is a great reward once we all become better people. Imagine the most perfect life you could ever have and then some.
