You're making it very hard to take anything you say seriously. If the group in question are attempting to impose concept or activities onto atheism then yes they are acting no differently then the "atheist church " which is a cult.

So again you have failed to demonstrate atheism is a religion
Having some of the same rights as a religion does not make it a religion
Pointing to some loons imposing values and rituals that have nothing to do with atheism does not make it a religion
Appealing to journals while not actually providing a real argument does not make it a religion
Pointing to some loons at a university doing the same loopy stuff as the for mentioned loons does not make it a religion
They have their brand of atheism and you have yours. Nothing to make one preferable than the other, except they at least have some type of organization rather than a bunch of "nope" statements. Ten years from now it will all look different anyway. You have competing factions with it already. They start out as one group and break into smaller groups, then they grow from there. No different than what happens with any other religion. You're just in an earlier stage of the process. Plus the atheist groups are monetizing their factions which means it will happen all the more. I think the Christians and Muslims have you beat there though. You can typically become a member without paying a fee. Surprised the atheist churches are doing that, but hey, it's "business" I suppose.
