The word kinda has a negative connotation, but I'd say it depends on the disorder and whether or not it's being treated.
I mean, whether or not it's being treated, it's not something a person has any control of (disorders, that is). Therefore, it's acceptable either way. We can't just not accept people's life experiences because they don't jive with ours, especially if they can't help it.
Would you find my OCD or panic disorder unacceptable? What about Tibs' Tourette's Syndrome. I'd guess not, so if your hypothesis that it is a disorder is correct, it's even more reason to be kind and understanding.
