Some things are understood even though they're not exact. Sometimes you need to be exact.
I already answered the sufficiency question. Humans have the potential for error. It doesn't mean we have to err in something, but why increase your chances if you don't know something? I think it's good that it's not sufficient, because it can drive us to make it more sufficient by learning. Sometimes that requires making mistakes (trial and error).
