And currently Astronomers do not currently know why.

You haven't brushed past something like a 'New Sceintist' article in your internet travels? Or some Astronomer's web page (Sucha s Phill Plait) and read their inormation on the topics as you've perused the interwebz?
I'm kind of flummoxed as to what it is you wish.

My question is more simply seeking an understanding of your state of understanding/knowledge/awarness.
