I think that the overall acceptance of LGBTQ Americans is due to the decline of evangelical Christianity in America and its influence in the political sphere.

According to marketing executives and public relations people, the larger amount of disposable income that many gay Americans had, had a lot to do with it. There was big money in commercializing LGBT issues. It is sad, but true.
We do not inherit the world from our parents. We borrow it from our children.
