It's just reality and yes it is a heavily debated topic.  It is the Theory of Evolution, not the Law of Evolution. 

Common ancestry isn't based on the theory of evolution - and the "just a theory" song and dance is fundamentally idiotic.  There is the theory of evolution, and there are the facts of evolution.  Common ancestry actually is based on something we call laws.  The laws of inheritance, worked out by gregor mendel, the core of the study of genetics, which is one part of the theory of evolution, called modern synth.   You get your genetic material from your mommy and daddy.  That's where it comes from.  Shared genetic material indicates shared ancestry.   That's how paternity tests work.

There is no proof of common ancestry.

OFC there is, but more importantly..and apparently something you will never so much as allow yourself to address- 

If god made you from a monkey, if that's the way god wanted it..you have no time for that god.  Made to choose between the discredited beheite tinkerer and a broader and more competent christian god, you choose the beheite tinkerer.  

Christ doesn't know you, god does not listen to your prayers.  Magic book is clear on this issue.  The lord of the cosmos is not a god of ignorance or deference to personal desire.  You need to go find jesus, man..before it's too late.

The Bible tells us God made Adam and Eve as the first man and woman.  It makes no claim of descendants from monkeys.  The geological record shows explosions of new life throughout history on the geological time scales.  This is very relevant.  We do not find a slow gradual process of new life but explosions of new life and new information in the genome.  We do not find links to a common ancestry of monkeys just other men and women.
