Heck, a lot of women saw her as a woman who rode up on her husband's coat tails. She never won a competitive race. Her New York senate seat was basically pulled out for her to sit down in. She is not a strong campaigner. And then there is the whole thing with the whole base being pretty burned out on the New Dems. And then there is the whole thing about the party putting its thumb on the scale for her in the primaries. Those are strong reasons to be less than thrilled with her.
It's not fair that Bernie's reputation is tarnished by her having screwed up so badly.
Bernie’s reputation is tarnished by worsening the effects of her screwing up. Badly is a description of the result, not of the misjudgement.
Bernie didn't worsen the effects of her screwing up. Bernie certainly isn't responsible for the thumb being placed on the scale for Hillary. It was Hillary and the corrupt machinery of the Democratic Party that did that all by themselves. 'Twas the thumb on the scale that created the acrimony, not Bernie. Hillary could have come through with the nomination a lot cleaner without the corruption which of course looked bad on her, what with being corruption and all.
