That's because it was never supposed to be canonical. Early "scholars" realised quickly that it was too obvious a fake and did their damnedest to ensure it didn't get in, but it was snuck in and left there.

It is not fake.  All the Scriptures are the inspired word of God.  Revelation predicts future events to unfold similar to Daniel's dream.  It is highly symbolic and a great book of the Scriptures.

I didn't say man has immortal souls.  I said God created man's body and his soul.  He can destroy both.  We can be reborn and receive eternal life by believing in Jesus the Lord.

You may not have said that man has immortal souls, but Christianity does. According to Christian theology Adam had an immortal soul. He could not die.

Adam would not die unless he ate of the apple which he did.  At that point he became mortal.  Pretty basic and simple to understand.
