I didn't say I was offended. I wanted to hear what others think about this matter.
I do have an opinion to why some people think like that. As I mentioned in the OP, it might be because fright is a negative emotion and they think that the ones who want to get that feeling may be stupid, or at least this thing in particular is stupid.
I also believe that some of them might have troubles with new things and people who are different, on what level it depends.
Another reason could be a bad first impression. Maybe they saw horror that was actually stupid and assumed that all horror is like that.
I find it inreseting to read other peoples' posts. Maybe I learn something new or they express a certain information in an interesting way.
