Mitochondrial Eve HERSELF existed in a long line of and ALONG WITH other humans and in the context of other related homo lines.
She didn't birth herself, full-blown with human genes which INCLUDE obvious (non-mitochondrial human) mutations in previous generations.
It is entirely possible at some point in the future an earlier human female will be found, (just as SHE WAS FOUND). Creationists didn't give a hoot about genetics until Mitochondrial Eve was discovered and they could MIS-CHARACTERIZE her status, in order to LIE and support about their pseudo-science and (false) literal ignorant interpretation of ancient Near Eastern literature, (which American Fundamentalism stupidly chose as their hill they would die on).
