Gae, APES, please.
We have common ancestors with monkeys However, human beings [by definition and classification] are primates, which means we are a species of ape.
Catholics find literalists Christians hilarious. It's such a weak position to take. Too easy to point out logical absurdities, such as all humans came from Adam and Eve.If so, through inbreeding, humans have soon become too physically and mentally impaired to breed.
Noah; the bible does not simply say 'two of everything": It's two of each UNCLEAN animal, of CLEAN animals SEVEN pairs. As far as I can work out, the Ark was a lot smaller than say the Titanic.--Let's just say there was room for the millions of species of insects and arachnids--how did Australian native animals get there?
The Catholics are far more cunning: They have no problem saying that much of the old testament is metaphor: EG the Seven day creation, Adam and Eve, Noah, Tower of Babel. That gives them so much wriggle room. The literalists are stuck with claims so bizarre and so absurd that that people with an IQ above ambient room temperature just laugh at them.
I'm NOT saying all fundamentalists are stupid. Indeedly doodly not! However, being stupid is a decided advantage if you are going to actually believe those myths are the literal word of a creator..
