Interesting article. I read much of it and skimmed through some of it.  Is there a highlighted point you would like to summarize from the article?

Long story short, the article in the New Scientist and by extension the AJHG article talks about Albert Perry, a black South Carolina man, DNA’s technicians tried to place Perry on the Y-chromosome family tree, they just couldn’t. His Y chromosome was like no other so far analysed.  Perry did not descend from the genetic Adam. In fact, his Y chromosome was so distinct that his male lineage probably separated from all others about 338,000 years ago.

It concludes that mt-Eve lived 140,000 prior to Y-Adam
