It shouldn't be impossible to thread the needle between the two viewpoints. To whatever extent human action (and mere existence) is directly or indirectly eradicating a species...-and- to whatever extent some more beneficial and symbiotic event or relationship exists between humans and some other species...both are examples of nature taking it's course.
