Call me a misogynist at the drop of a hat. Eventually, I don't care about being called a misogynist.
I don't care. More and more people don't care. Eventually, who cares?
You didn't want to talk honestly. You wanted to slander. Slander turns stale. Then no one cares.
Some people are really racists. I would have loved to help you with that. But I no longer care.
Some people are really misogynists. I don't care.
I don't care any more.
So really this is a discussion about habituating to over-heated rhetoric.
That's a problem with the internet. If everything is an emergency, what happens when a real emergency comes around?
I think one way out of this problem is to distinguish between people's actions and their character. We can all act well or badly, so discussions really should focus on specific behaviors at specific times. Avoid over-generalizing about mistakes, poor behavior, etc. Also, take it as constructive criticism when someone points out a problem. After all, we are posting at a forum to elicit different perspectives.
In a way. But what it's really about is a poster who routinely treats people here like the lowest grade of shit and then goes all butthurt when it gets turned round on him.
