I want him....I want him, I want him, I want him!
I demand that his caretaker give him to me posthaste, so I can see to it that he lives as the king he is.
I'm sure that's the first one I've seen, absolutely gorgeous. Jar aquariums can be pretty for a short stay but I wouldn't feel comfortable having anything in there for longer than a few weeks.
That video was beautifully shot I thought it was going to be some sort of trick.
I actually kept my first Betta in similar sun tea jar (mine was bigger) for a few weeks after I rescued him from a ridiculously small, filthy vase that had chewing gum and goddamned ink pen in it. It was a spur-of-the-moment fishnapping sort of situation, so I had to improvise with the set up. The poor fella had a bad case of ick and fin rot, and maybe velvet; It could've been the rot that was affecting his scales though, I'm not sure.
Anyway, the jar was great in the interim for nursing him back to health and he seemed quite happy in it. Relative to where he'd been living, it was probably like the Four Seasons. But once his health was fully restored I upgraded to a 6 gallon tank.
IMO, folks could do definitely do worse than tea jars, but Bettas really need more room to stretch out. 5 gallons is the absolute smallest I would suggest for housing a lone Betta, and I would recommend no less than 10 for a Betta with a few smaller companions.
