if u feel uncomfortable just know that my mother and my step dad and my 2 sisters and my 4 brothers have all probably watched this too ahahakillmeehehe
When it comes to the hate, I imagine the feelings that some fans have toward the scene are akin to that of a parent watching their child have sex for the first time. I mean, we did start watching Arya when she was just a small girl, and it’s definitely a big step for us when we see her doing something more adult.
Funny thing is, fans are repulsed by a sex scene between a grown-up Arya and Gendry, but are completely fine watching her kill people, wear their faces as masks, and even put them into pies for other people to eat. Sure, sex was where people drew the line.

I was totally and completely fine with it, in fact my sister and I were both losing our shit with happiness about it.
On the other hand, though, I did have to stop watching a Californication (that show with David Duchovny) because in like the first episode he's having sex with the actress that played Rachel Greene, the daughter of Mark Greene from ER and I couldn't handle that.

Meanwhile, in an earlier series, a brother raped his sister on the grave of their son.
There was hullabaloo about that at the time.
And complaints about sexposition thoughout the first seasons.
And complaints about Dany's relationship with Khal Drogo and how her first sex scene was turned into a rape.
There have been complaints on and off about how sex is dealt with in GOT for its whole run.
Teenaged X-Files obsession + Bermuda Triangle episode + Self-led school research project = Atheist.
