I will make the claim that it's always the present. There is no past. There is no future. There is only the ever changing present.
In this scenario of an ever changing present, that would mean that everything changes. Meaning that a god cannot "have always existed". It would mean that a god could exist, but it would need to form within the universe, step by step, until it became a being that had the ability to mold matter.
It also means that this god being isn't all powerful, can only know what is knowable and is subject to change. It can lose it's power. It can be destroyed, in the same way matter is destroyed in a black hole.
So given all that, we still need evidence to believe that such a being exists. So far, I haven't encountered any.
