Drich's point is that believers are essentially awarded a Get Out of Jail Free card and are not required to adhere to the letter of the law in order to receive their Special Prize. The purpose of the law is/was to demonstrate to dirty-birdie humans that they are losers who are incapable of living up the Yaweh's standards...and thus, why folks need JC to step in.
Accept JC's offer, and you can do whatever you like.
It's all good; You're covered.
More or less.
Lol.
glob..
How did I miss this hot mess?
So no.. We as Christian are not judge by a moral code.
When ask Jesus said there are only two rules one needs to follow under him.
1) love the lord your God with all of your being (heart mind Spirit and strength)/All aspects in which you can love God is to receive love first.
2) love your neighbor as yourself.
Under just these two rule according to the teaching of christ himself The whole law is made complete. meaning if you follow these two rules the whole more law of the bible has been satisfied. Hence we as followers of Christ as per the bible states, are not judged by a moral code but by the attonement Christ offers us via the love we share. Our ablity to love and forgive is extended back to us in the way of forgivness of our sins.
Nothing I said here is new. this mantra has been repeated for thousands of years. it's in these last few generations we forgot it's meaning.

If it makes anyone feel any better I don't think there is a long term member on this board who hasn't PMed me asking me one thing or another. (you are all in the same boat) Either Way here I do know what I am talking about and I wrote what I did knowing what I know and also knew it would not be accepted and why. which is also why I emphasized what replaces the moral code in Christianity. "Love" which can be used as a filter to show that a given circumstance can not pass or pretend to be christianity as the bible outlines it.(May 8, 2019 at 1:31 pm)Drich Wrote:
no you shared with me in PM a while back..
Lol...Does the quoted text look familiar? It should.
It's from your signature.

Quote:That doesn't mean question just the questionable, it also means that we should question the foundational. If you have a biblically based question you'd rather not openly discuss i am happy to receive any PM's discretely, or Email [email protected]
or as much as you all change your names I could have two people's stories completely confused in which case none of this really matters anyway.

To die is to not exist.
Atheist do not believe in God...
So is it a stretch to say Atheist kill the idea of God?
What? Yes, that is a stretch. You can only die if you exist. If you don't exist you can't die. To die is to exist and then stop existing. Also, not believing in an idea doesn't kill the idea. If you were trying to reference Nietzsche then I think you have a very poor understanding of what he meant when he wrote that.
Glob...
So when Nietzsche says it and references the idea of a global 'enlightenment' brought on by 'science and strong philosophy' rising to prominence in the world replacing the church and it's archaic understanding of the world and how it works and how we will move on.. Is par for thecourse for someone like you when they say God is dead...
-However-
When I the representative of the church in this discussion use the phrase, It can not be to reference 19th century philosophers 'stone' as it where, let alone use it in a discussion to partially describe someone's stated reasons for abandoning belief?
Why?
Because My use of a 200 year old quote goes against christian stereotypes?
Riddle me this sport. If I was not saying God was 'killed' by a secular enlightenment why would I have referenced a move who's title and main antagonist takes Nietzsche primary philosphy and address it point by point? why would I have asked when confronted by the OP "I don't think God is dead" with questions concerning/verifying her atheism?
Maybe it is you who is short sighted and can not see the parallels I made, perhaps that might change if and when you become more familiar with nietzsche's work. even if only via a cheeze kevin sorbo movie
