You said yourself that most people view god as a supernatural being capable of creating the universe. Most atheists that I know view "god" in the exact same way and therefore have INDEED defined god and now chosen not to believe in him.
So what exactly is your point??? Please tell me you don't really believe that your "insight" on this topic trumps everyone else's views on all things existential? If you're that arrogant you should look into Christianity ... that would be a REALLY good fit for you ... those people are NEVER wrong. Just ask them.
