The problem is, I believe the Bible is the Word of God and you don't.  We are not going to ever agree on this.

It is a problem indeed, because you can't back up a single claim you've made with any evidence. The fact that you choose to believe what has been written in a book of mythology and heroic fiction is laughable. You're squandering your only existence on a pipe dream. You're as ridiculous as those Jehovah's Witnesses who appear at my door twice a year.

Jesus is a historic figure and the Bible is the truth.

We are no longer under the law (including the Ten Commandments), we are under the grace of God (salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ).  The commandments to be followed are love God with all your heart, mind, and soul and love your neighbor as yourself.  The Ten Commandments are still very important, however.  They were written by the finger of God and recited by Jesus as commandments to be followed so we should still adhere to the Ten Commandments.

But Jesus never recited the ten commandments. Whatever gave you that idea?

He recited about half of them or so.

So far, the proof I have seen CDF present all includes the words 'I believe'.  How convincing in a not really convincing sort of way.

It is by grace.  It is not by works but one's works should show the Holy Spirit working in them.  It is a way to detect false Christians.

No, salvation is by grace.  The law was for the Jews at the time.
