Reminds of an old Dave Allen joke:

A priest and an atheist are having a discussion.  Things are going along civilly enough, until the priest loses his temper and shouts, 'You obdurate fool!  You are like a blind man in a dark cellar looking for a black cat that isn't there!'

To which the atheist calmly replies, 'So are you.  The only difference between is that you go about telling people you've found the cat.'
