Great, then please explain the protocols. Please explain your competence to talk about (software) protocols as a mechanical and system engineer.
As a system engineer you also surely can explain to us the architecture of said transportation systems. The the safety mechanisms, general measures for robustness, how various functions make use of protocols, etc..

The fact that something reminds you of something you (as a mechanical engineer, hardly) know does not mean it actually is like the stuff you know, you.....know?

Actually I dealt with controls and communication protocols in the past. You know nothing about my background.
