Apparently, George Lucas told Carrie Fisher there was no underwear in space.
He meant she couldn't wear a bra in the slave outfit.
Not just the slave outfit. She didn't wear a bra in 'A New Hope'. The way Fisher tells it, she arrived on set the first day of shooting and Lucas said, 'You can't wear a bra with that outfit.' 'Why?' 'Because there's no underwear in space.'
